ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮನ ಕಗ್ಗ – ಪೂಜ್ಯ ಡಿವಿಜಿಯವರು ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಮೇರುಕೃತಿ. ಜೀವನದ ಅರ್ಥ , ವಿಧಿ ವಿಲಾಸ , ಪ್ರಗತಿ ತತ್ವ , ಸಮರಸ ಮಾರ್ಗ ಹೀಗೆ ಮೊದಲಾದ ನೂರಾರು ವಿಷಯಗಳ ವಿವರಣೆ ೪ ಸಾಲುಗಳ ಪದ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ . ಒಟ್ಟು ೯೪೫ ಪದ್ಯಗಳಿದ್ದು ಎಲ್ಲವು ಒಂದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಒಂದು ವಿಭಿನ್ನವೆನ್ನಬಹುದು.

ರಾಹುಲ್ ದ್ರಾವಿಡ್ – ಭಾರತೀಯ ಕ್ರಿಕೆಟಿನ ದಂತಕಥೆ. ತಮ್ಮ ಆಟದ ಮೂಲಕ ಅನೇಕ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ತಮ್ಮ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವ ಮತ್ತು ನಡವಳಿಕೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಅನೇಕರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶಕ ಮತ್ತು ಆದರ್ಶ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಛಾಪು ಮೂಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

‘ಕಗ್ಗದ ಸಾಲು – ದ್ರಾವಿಡ್ ಬಾಳು’ ಎನ್ನುವ ಈ ಸರಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ಕಗ್ಗದ ಆಯ್ದ ಸಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ದ್ರಾವಿಡ್ ಅವರ ಬಾಳಿನ ಘಟನೆಗಳು/ಅನಿಸಿಕೆಗಳು/ನಡವಳಿಕೆಗಳ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ಮಾಡಿರುತ್ತೀವಿ.

ಕಗ್ಗವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಪರಿಚಯ ಮಾಡಿಸುವ ಮೂಲ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಸರಣಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲು ಇಚ್ಛಿಸಿರುತ್ತೀವಿ ಮತ್ತು ವಯುಕ್ತಿಕವಾಗಿ ದ್ರಾವಿಡ್ ನನ್ನ ನೆಚ್ಚಿನ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯಾದ ಕಾರಣ ಈ ಸರಣಿಯನ್ನು ಅವರ ಬದುಕಿನ ಘಟನಾವಳಿಗ ಆಧಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ನಿಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರ ಅನಿಸಿಕೆ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಗಳಿಂದ ಇದನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸುತ್ತಿರವೆನ್ನುವ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ.

Mankuthimmana Kagga is a master piece written by Sri D V Gundappa (DVG) which is a collection 0f 945 poems and each being four lines in length. Each poem can be read independently and Kagga as a whole deals with wide variety of topics ranging from God, Existence, Work, Life and what not and also it can be related to any sect of people no matter what they do in life say academicians, workers, saints, sportsperson and who not.

Rahul Dravid is a legendary former Indian cricketer who has his own set of records in cricketing field. His antics on and off the field has garnered lot of fans/followers and he imbibes lot of qualities which are worth emulating.

We know we could go on tirelessly with the topic of Mankuthimmana Kagga and Rahul Dravid here, but will be restricting ourselves.

So, this series of ‘Lines of Kagga – Life of Dravid’ is an attempt to know the aspirations or meanings of selected Mankuthimmana Kagga with the incidents/stories/anecdotes around Dravid’s life. The whole intention behind is to generate interest towards Mankuthimmana Kagga and the life lessons it offers and I confess choosing Rahul Dravid is purely a biased decision as being a fan it gives me an opportunity to relive those golden moments.
