Summary:

In this Kagga, DVG explains in what way we should be prepared before taking up a big challenging task with an example of how a spark will be killed when a huge log falls over it, but at the same time if the spark grows into a fire, it can consume the whole forest.  Similar to this, we should not take up anything new or challenging until we know that our body and mind are well prepared for it. Instead, we should keep that spark alive and groom the talent within ourselves so that we can showcase our maximum potential at the right time.

Writing on the Wall:

Rahul Dravid started his cricketing career while he was a teenager and accomplishes to get selected to play for the South-Zone. When playing against the West-Zone in Cuttack, he meets Sachin Tendulkar for the first time. Seeing Sachin play, Dravid thinks that Sachin is already a star and is altogether in a different league when compared to himself. In a year’s time, Dravid gets selected to National Junior Academy and he obtains a chance to meet many international cricketers at Kolkata. Looking at these players, Dravid feels that he is not yet ready for the international cricket as he needs to keep that spirit in him alive while he must train rigorously in order to prepare himself to acheive his big dream of representing India. He moves to Chennai and trains himself for few years. In 1996, he gets nominated for the India tour of England where he makes his debut with Saurav Ganguly and scores 95 runs, thus entering the International Cricketing World with his maximum potential. In the later years, Dravid exclaims that he was lucky enough to debut when he was 23 years old where he was more matured when compared to his teenage days.
