- D V Gundappa was born on March 17th, 1887 at Mulbagal, Kolar district.
- His father name is Venkataramaniah and Mother name is Alamelamma
- He was married to Bhageerathamma and his children are B.G.L Swamy and Indira
- He led a very simple way of life and was a perfect example for “Simple Living, High Thinking”
- DVG passed away at the age of 88 on 7 October 1975
